Suggested Inquiry Activities

Allow students to connect to a historical event or image by contrasting it with what it looks like today.
Use current satellite imagery to force students to question how/why an area has changed or remained the same over the years. 
Google Earth provides students with a wealth of information from organizations such as National Geographic, Discovery, NASA, Greenpeace, Unicef and many more, allowing them to investigate an infinite number of ideas and locations.
Through the use of the many resources described in the Investigate stage, students will find valueable answers to many questions they posed in the Wonder stage allowing them to construct new knowledge and understandings about the Earth, seas and skies.
Google Earth allows students to save placemarks, overlays, text descriptions and entire tours.  This provides them with a wide range of possibilities for expressing their new understandings.  Saved projects can then be shared and collaborated with other students or teachers for rich learning experiences.
